Bunk Bed

Now that the bed bug issue has been resolved, we decided to get a bunk bed for the kids. Jay didn't like the idea at first. He thought it would be too scary to sleep on the top. James asked him who should sleep on the top, and Jay said, "Leslie!!" After thinking about it for a few days, he decided that it would be fun, and was excited when we went to pick it up last week. Leslie wanted to sleep in the new bed until she rolled into the space between the bed and the wall. That was not the side of the bed I was worried about. She was moved back into her crib at 1 am for the remainder of the night. That was the end of the crib use. The crib is still set up, but Leslie is more than happy with her new bed that she can get out of. We were going to keep the crib up for a little longer, but since she has adapted so well, I am going to have James take it down this week. It is only in the way anyway. I have been putting the crib mattress on the floor by the open end of the bed, so that if Leslie were to roll off, she would land on the mattress. I push it under the bed in the morning and pull it out for naps and bedtime. So far, I have only found her on the floor once, but it was in the morning, she apparently didn't notice that she fell out of bed. I am looking at getting a bed rail, but haven't picked one out yet. If you know anything about them like what not to get, please let me know. Today was the third day she has gone to bed in her new bed, and it is the first day she didn't try to get out of bed. I am hoping this is a trend. Jay took about two weeks before he realized that just because he could physically get out of bed, he wasn't supposed to. I am also hoping that Jay's influence on Leslie will help keep her in bed. We will see.
